Management Team
Thinh Tran
Co-founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Tran, a co-founder of Sigma Designs, has served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board of Directors since the Company's inception in 1982. Under Mr. Tran's leadership, the Company has grown from a small start-up to a multimillion-dollar public Company, weathering the many ups and downs of the industry, economy, and rapid changes in technology. Mr. Tran has played an integral role in transitioning the business from solutions for personal computer displays to solutions for consumer appliances. Prior to founding Sigma Designs, Mr. Tran was employed by Amdahl Corporation and Trilogy Systems Corporation, both of which were involved in the IBM-compatible mainframe computer market. Mr. Tran received a B.S.E.E. from the University of Wisconsin in 1974 and his M.S.E.E. from Stanford University in 1975.

Thomas E. Gay III
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Gay has more than 35 years of experience as a finance professional with the vast majority of his career spent at technology companies. From May 1998 to May 2007, Mr. Gay served as CFO of Catalyst Semiconductor (NASDAQ: CATS), a developer of mixed-signal and memory ICs for telecommunications, consumer, and other markets. At Catalyst, Mr. Gay played a fundamental role in the turnaround of the company during its insolvency period and achieved continued profitability for eight years thereafter. During his tenure, Mr. Gay was responsible for Finance, Treasury, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Information Technology, Insurance and Facilities. From 1981 to 1998, Mr. Gay held a succession of controller positions at five previous companies where he was generally responsible for all accounting functions and financial processes. These controller positions included the corporate controller for Wireless Access Inc., an earlier term as controller for Catalyst Semiconductor, the corporate controller for Sanmina Corporation, the controller and VP of administration at IndTech Corporation, and a division controller at NEC Electronics, USA. Mr. Gay holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from San Diego State University.

David Lynch
Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Mr. Lynch has more than 27 years of professional experience in the semiconductor industry with a record of extraordinary results. From June of 2000 to February of 2008, Mr. Lynch served as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Video Products Division of Gennum Corporation, a developer of mixed signal and video processing products for the consumer and professional markets. During his tenure, Mr. Lynch played a fundamental role in re-shaping their semiconductor business and achieving profitable new growth. As Senior Vice President and General Manager, his responsibilities included full profit and loss responsibility for the Video Products division, including management of sales, marketing, product development and supply channels. From 1994 to 2000, Mr. Lynch served as the Vice President of Research and Development for Gennum. From 1978 to 1994, Mr. Lynch worked for Bell Northern Research as the Director of Semiconductor Subsystems Design, Senior Manager of IC Development, and additional engineering positions. Mr. Lynch holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science degree from the University of Toronto.

Jacques Martinella
Vice President, Engineering
Mr. Martinella has been the Vice President of Engineering, since December 1995. Mr. Martinella joined the Company in May 1994 as Director, VLSI Engineering. From June 1990 to April 1994, Mr. Martinella served in engineering and management positions at Weitek, a graphics chip manufacturer. In addition, Mr. Martinella was an engineer at National Semiconductor, a semiconductor manufacturer, from June 1982 to June 1990. Mr. Martinella received an engineering diploma from "Ecole Superieure d'Electricite" in Paris and an M.S.E.E. from Stanford University.

Kit Tsui
General Manager, Singapore
Ms. Tsui was appointed Managing Director, Singapore Operations in April 2008. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Tsui was the Vice President of Planning and Administration (February 2007 to April 2008), Chief Financial Officer (January 2001 to February 2007), and Chief Accounting Officer (January 2000 to January 2001). Ms. Tsui joined the Company in November 1982 as its Accounting Manager. During her tenure at the Company, Ms. Tsui was promoted to Director of Finance in February 1990, and to Corporate Secretary in December 1996. Ms. Tsui received a B.S. degree in accounting from San Francisco State University.

Kenneth Lowe
Vice President, Business Development and Strategic Marketing
Mr. Lowe joined the Company in May 2000 as Vice President, Marketing and was promoted to Vice President, Business Development in January 2001. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Lowe served as the Director of Multimedia Marketing for Cadence Design Systems. Prior to 1995, Mr. Lowe founded his own technology company, Performix, and also held various marketing management positions at Sierra Semiconductor, Chrontel, and Dataquest. In the late 1980's, Mr. Lowe served as Product Marketing Director of Sigma Designs.

Hung Nguyen
General Manager & Vice President, Wireless Products Division
Mr. Hung Nguyen is a seasoned executive and technologist with 21 years of experiences in semiconductor designs for wireless systems, optical drives and hard disk drives. He is a well-recognized authority in the fields of wireless communications and digital signal processing with over 22 patents. Mr. Nguyen joined Sigma Designs as the General Manager & VP of the Wireless Products Division through the acquisition of Blue7 Communications in February 2006. He was the Founder and CEO of Blue7, a privately-held company that developed the Ultra-Wideband Wireless chipsets for consumer electronics. Prior to founding Blue7, Mr. Nguyen worked at NeoMagic where he served as the Deputy General Manager & Sr. Director leading the marketing and engineering teams of the Optical Storage division. At NeoMagic he participated in a successful IPO and the Optical Storage division was later acquired by LSI Logic. Mr. Nguyen also held several management and engineering positions at Quantum Corporation and IBM. Mr. Hung Nguyen received a BSEE with distinction from University of Southern California and a MSEE from Santa Clara University. He was named Inventor of the Year at Quantum in 1995.
