Secure Media Processors

The SMP8640 family provides highly-integrated solutions for products requiring high-definition MPEG-4.10 (H.264), SMPTE 421M (VC-1), AVS, WMV9, MPEG-4.2 and MPEG-2 decoding. The Secure Media Processor architecture offers advanced content protection, supporting a wide variety of Digital Rights Management (DRM) and Conditional Access (CA) solutions.

To meet the new low-power requirements for CE products, the SMP8640 family features several standby features, including wake-on-IR, wake-on-LAN and sleep/standby with DRAM data preserved.

Incorporating flexible, advanced audio/video processing, the SMP8640 family enables cost-effective solutions for Blu-ray players/recorders, IPTV set-top boxes and digital cable set-top boxes. For high-end Blu-ray players, the SMP8644 provides a direct interface to our VXP® Image Processors. The SMP8642 is optimized for mainstream Blu-ray players while offering the same high level of performance.
